As part of the National Curriculum 2014, children are taught a range of strategies to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations. This ranges from a practical, hands-on approach for younger children progressing to formal methods for older children. In order for support to be consistent at home, children in Key Stage 2 annually bring home an information sheet as to how their class solve these four operations.
