Enterprise '24 - March 2024

After the success of Enterprise Week last year, we were all very excited to get started on Enterprise this year.

In our introductory assembly, we heard the bible story of The Parable of the Bags of Gold, (Matthew 25, verses 14-30).

The children worked really hard researching what to sell, costings, profit margins and advertising.

We were very lucky that the weather stayed dry for the sale and lots of parents, carers and friends supported the event.

All groups made a profit. Collectively the whole school made a profit of £238.03. There were lots of suggestions about what to spend the profit on. Class representatives met and agreed to spend the money on playground equipment and ice pops for everyone.

We love playing with the new equipment and have monitors to look after it.

What the children at Witherley think about Enterprise?

"I have learnt quicker methods of counting money." Year 3 child

"I like buying what people have made."  Year 1 child

"Amazing because it was fun making shrinkies and it made us a lot of money." Year 4 child

"I think it is very good because it teaches people what the real world is like and how to make a new company from a small amount of money." Year 6 child

"I think it is a good learning opportunity because you’re putting yourself in the shoes of a business" Year 5 child

"Some shops are cheaper than others." Year 6 child

We'd like to thank Friends of Witherley who have again supported Enterprise by loaning groups money for their initial outlay.
