December 24
We do love December! We love decorating our classroom for Christmas, it's a joint effort and we are all involved. We also spend December learning our Nativity songs and actions. It's always a fun time.

Here we are learning to listen to each other and following a simple music score.
November 24
We had a very full November. We have learned that you need to respect fire and how to cook marshmallows safely - yum! Our school bell tent was erected and we have enjoyed warming up in there on chilly Forest School days. We also looked at fish and found they have teeth! We celebrated Bonfire Night by learning about the story of Guy Fawlkes and exploring colour mixing. There's never a dull moment in Explorers!
October 2024
October the arrival of Autumn. We have loved exploring all the wonderful Autumn treasures this season brings. We are enjoying our Forest School sessions and had our first fire - sausages were cooked and munched!
This year Diwali is at the end of October. We have had a week exploring the story of Diwali and all the different ways Diwali is celebrated.
September 2024
A new start, we’re all getting to know each other and are making new friends.
March, a month, full of animals, exploring and discovery. A full on busy month! Celebrated our mums by inviting them into a classroom to share afternoon tea. We’ve explored the Easter story and Easter traditions.
February is an exciting month in Explorers, a month of celebrations and discovery.
Once a month we invite one of our family to come and share stories and books with us. We share our grown ups with our friends!! We love it, it’s a special time for all of us.
A visit from the RSPCA
John, from the RSPCA, came to visit us with some of his rescued pets. He brought a tarantula, a bearded dragon, a bowl snake, a scorpion and a tortoise. We loved it!
Learning a Diwali dance
September and October 2023
We are so lucky to have a day in our Forest School every week.
This half term we’ve been exploring nature’s treasures that are all around us.
We’ve developed our den making skills by working and communicating our ideas as part of a team then applying what we’ve learned to building tiny dens for The Little People (who live in our Forest School space!) individually.
We’ve also experienced the joy of an outdoor fire - you can’t beat toasting marshmallows outside!
We are learning all about fire safety and showing fire respect - we’ve learned so much!

Our first day
Grand Opening of our NEW outside space
We absolutely love it and feel so very fortunate. We explore and investigate outside every day come rain or shine!
One of the children summed it up brilliantly ' There's so many things to choose I don't know what to do first!'
