Medication at School

The Board of Governors and staff of Witherley CE Primary School wish to ensure that pupils with medication needs receive appropriate care and support whilst at school so that they can continue to have full access to education.

Non-prescription medicines such as hay fever treatment or cough/cold remedies will be treated in the same way as prescription medicines in that they should be in a clearly labelled original container with a signed consent form detailing the pupil’s name, dose and frequency of administration.

Prescribed medicines should be in original containers labelled with the pupil’s name, dose, and frequency of administration, storage requirements and expiry date.

All medications should be brought to the school office by a parent or carer and a consent form signed.

Should the school feel that your child is in need of medication such as paracetamol during the school day, a parent or carer will be contacted by telephone to request consent prior to any medication being given.

Breakfast/After School Club

At Witherley Church of England Primary School, we are pleased to offer a Breakfast Club and After School Club to support families with childcare and provide children with opportunities for enrichment and social interaction in a safe, welcoming environment.

These clubs offer a cost-effective solution for parents while ensuring high-quality care. Fees are set to cover the running costs of the service, and we rely on families to follow our usage and charging policies to help maintain its continuity. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding.

Making Payments

Witherley Church of England Primary School operates as a cashless school. All payments — including those for wraparound care, school meals, trips, and other activities — must be made via Arbor, our secure online platform.

This system helps streamline administration, improve security, and ensure convenience for families. We appreciate your cooperation in using Arbor for all school-related payments, if you have any questions regarding our payment system please contact the school office.

School Closure

Should the school be closed for any reason, including weather events such as snow or flooding, this will be published on all available communication channels including ClassDojo, Arbor and our social media pages.

Advice on Using Images

From time to time, our school may be visited by the media who will take photos or film footage, for example of a visiting dignitary or other high profile event. Pupils often appear in these images, which may appear in local or national newspapers, or on televised news programmes.

Occasionally, we may take photographs of the children at our school. We may use these images, for example, in our schools prospectus or in other printed publications that we produce, as well as on our website and social media. We may also make video or webcam recordings for school-to-school conferences, monitoring, social media or other educational use.

To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, we need your permission before we can photograph or make any recordings of your child. In order to give permission, please review the consents requested on Arbor and consent or decline accordingly.

Please note that websites can be viewed throughout the world and not just in the United Kingdom where UK law applies.
